Microsundaes

Joe and Gus Rancatore are brothers that run their own ice cream shops, named "Rancatore's" and "Toscanini's". Very dense, richly flavored ice cream with novelties like Kulfi and Gochujang (they will make anything on request, with the main exception being things that will interfere with freezing, and that's one of their big sources of new flavors) and local classics like Dark Chocolate #3 and Roxbury Puddingstone.

Frappes, coffee drinks; some indoor seating including The Big Table (no laptops during weekend brunch, but there's wifi the rest of the time - it is MIT-adjacent after all.)

Neat little shot-glass-sized "microsundaes" when you want the ice cream and all the toppings but just not in traditionally enormous quantities. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Two locations (the classic "MIT" one in Lafayette Square up Mass Ave reopened in 2022, and the "new one" over on first street near the CambridgeSide Galleria mall.)

I'm a big fan, but I do need to disclaim that I've had more free ice cream from Tosci's than from anywhere else spanning my entire life - they were the supplier of choice for MIT dorm and lab events, but also (mostly as a direct consequence) a reliable choice for Cambridge area corporate and tech events.

The flavors vary enough that I look over the list each time, but if you're picking something up for me: ½ Grapenut and ½ Cocoa Pudding, and a Vietnamese Coffee. (Fallback to Gingersnap Molasses and Belgian Chocolate.)
